Overview

The Euro-Argo ONE project is a Horizon Europe project, launched in January 2025 and coordinated by Euro-Argo ERIC. The Euro-Argo ONE project enhances Europe’s role in the global OneArgo ocean monitoring system, improving ocean and climate understanding through expanded Argo float coverage and advanced capabilities. The project focuses on sustainability, data quality, and partnerships to deliver insights for science, policy, and climate action.

The project is organized in five Work Packages to achieve its goals:

  • WP1: Optimizes network design for efficiency and sustainability, including enhancing the sampling strategy nad the accessibility of the float data for users.
  • WP2: Strengthens Argo data management systems to ensure high-quality, consistent datasets and advanced quality control methods.
  • WP3: Builds technical and organizational capacity for strengthening the Euro-Argo ERIC potential.
  • WP4: Promotes project outcomes through communication, public engagement, and knowledge transfer to emphasize OneArgo’s added value.
  • WP5: Project coordination, aligns Euro-Argo ERIC efforts with global initiatives, and strengthening the collaborative framework of marine observing.

Euro-Argo ONE ensures a sustainable, long-term European contribution to global ocean in situ observation efforts.
