8th Euro-Argo Science Meeting - Call for abstracts
The Argo programme provides essential in-situ data to understand and monitor the rapidly changing ocean, from surface to depth, both at regional and global scale. The development of the Deep, Biogeochemical (BGC) and Polar Argo missions, as well as increased deployments in European marginal seas, are opening new perspectives for a wide range of applications and users.
The 8th Euro-Argo Science Meeting aims to highlight the latest scientific results enabled by Argo and its development towards the new global, full-depth and multidisciplinary OneArgo array, to stimulate discussions and engage new teams and collaborations within the Euro-Argo user community.
The meeting will take place within the framework of the Euro-Argo ONE project, which is funded by the European Commission and aims to align Euro-Argo with the OneArgo vision. Both abstract submission and registration will be free of charge. The meeting will feature opportunities for networking and allow all participants to discuss the future evolution of Euro-Argo. Special visibility will be given to early career scientists and students.
The conveners invite submission of abstracts on all aspects of Argo applications. Contributions from the modelling and satellite communities are strongly encouraged, as well as presentations focusing on synergies with other observing systems, especially with other European Marine Research Infrastructures. Abstracts are also expected from research teams involved in the development and implementation of the OneArgo array in terms of design, data processing, and novel functionalities. Abstracts are solicited on topics including, but not limited to:
- Biogeochemical processes
- Ocean climate and circulation
- Regional studies
- Satellite studies and modelling
- Operational oceanography
- General studies using Argo data
