Objectives
The agenda of the workshop will focus on the following topics:
• A full day of interactive session dedicated to looking at examples and best practices for salty-drifting CTDs and other regional cases, including marginal seas
• Deep-Argo QC procedures
• Introduction of BODC's Python version of the OWC tool
• Compilation of the DMQC Cookbook
• The collaborative framework for DMQC: how to use and contribute to online tools (repositories, Github issues) and QC forum
• Miscellaneous DMQC discussions: machine learning methods development, access to and content of reference data, other shared tools (visualization), how to keep track of delayed-mode operators, etc.

The workshop will be held over 4 days and will include a Deep Argo session.

Travel by air
You can arrive by air from overseas at Liverpool Airport or Manchester Airport.
- Bus: Arriva Buses operate at the airport, and the AirLink 500 bus goes into the centre of Liverpool (calling at just one station, Liverpool One Bus Station) every 30 minutes, 7 days a week until 6:00pm. The journey takes 25 minutes, with a single ticket costing £3.00.
- Taxi: A taxi to Liverpool's city centre takes 20 minutes from the airport, and costs around £18.00. If you haven't booked in advance, there is a black cab taxi rank situated outside the terminal entrance. All taxis can take up to 5 passengers and are also wheelchair accessible. Pre-booked private hire taxis will collect you from one of the car parks.
- Rail: The closest train station to Liverpool Airport is Liverpool South Parkway station, which is located 2 miles away. You can get to the train station by bus or taxi. To get to the heart of Liverpool from Liverpool South Parkway, alight at Liverpool Lime Street station. Direct journeys take around 10 minutes, and a single off-peak fare costs £3.40.
- Bus: National Express operate the buses between Manchester Airport and Liverpool (www.nationalexpress.com). Services depart every four hours, and operate every day. The journey takes approximately 1h and costs £4 - £7.
- Taxi: A taxi from Manchester airport to Liverpool’s city centre takes 40 minutes, and costs around £50.
- Rail: The average journey time between Manchester Airport and Liverpool is around 1 hour 18 minutes. Travel by rail
The nearest railway station is Liverpool Lime Street station, which is a 10-minute walk away.
National Rail (including an hourly service to and from London Euston, journey time of approximately two hours ten minutes) and Merseyrail City Line trains serve Lime Street station. Merseyrail Northern Line trains call at Moorfields and Liverpool Central stations, and Merseyrail Wirral Line trains stop at all City Centre stations.
- From Lime Street station, turn right at the main entrance (opposite St George's Hall), turn right on to London Road, continue on to Pembroke Place, and then right again on to Brownlow Street.NOC/ BODC, Liverpool is on the right (approximately 10 minutes to walk).
- From Central station, turn right at main entrance (Ranelagh Street), bear right past the Adelphi Hotel up Brownlow Hill. Turn left on to Great Newton Street and then right on to Brownlow Street (follow round to left); NOC/BODC Liverpool is on the left (approximately 10 minutes to walk).
