Argo: 2 000 000 profiles!

In September 2018, the Argo programme collected its two millionth profile, marking a major milestone for the 20-year-old observation programme.

At this occasion, an Argo story map was produced by the Argo international Programme as well as a video (Credits: IOC/UNESCO) which highlights how Argo has revolutionized the way scientists learn about the ocean.

This milestone was also celebrated at last AGU meeting in Washington (USA), where Timothey Galludet (NOAA administrator) summarized the key role of Argo.
